About
I am a seasoned consultant in the fields of HR, organisational development and talent management, with more than two decades of experience working with clients in the private, public, and third sectors. I founded Square Peg HR along with my co-director Frances McAulay, and we are proud to provide a range of HR services including employment law, operational HR advice, organisational development consultancy and recruitment/selection support.
I hold an MA in Social Anthropology, a PGDip Careers Guidance and an MSc in Behavioural Science ; the latter has equipped me with a deeper understanding of the way people think, act, and make decisions in various contexts.
I began my career as a Careers Advisor, providing guidance to both adults and secondary school pupils in Tyneside. I later transitioned into resourcing and assessment, offering in-house consultancy services to a range of large corporations and start-up outsourcing businesses.
My track record led me to a senior management position with a FTSE 100 professional services organisation, where I managed a business psychology offering across Scotland, North East England, and Northern Ireland, working on high-profile government and public sector contracts.
I maintain a keen interest in behavioural science and organisational psychology, leveraging my expertise in these areas to support SMEs and third sector organisations with their people and organisational projects. Behavioural science is a multidisciplinary field that draws from psychology, economics, neuroscience, and other disciplines to understand and influence human behaviour. By applying behavioural science principles, I help my clients make better decisions, improve employee engagement and performance, and achieve their strategic goals.
I am a member of the British Psychological Society, a Test User: Occupational, Personality (formerly Level A and B), and have Level B conversion training in various tools such as OPQ, Saville Wave, and Hogan Suite.
